Ok, some of you know that I have a new basset hound pup around the age of 1 years. She was a pound puppy, someone left her to fend for herself. So we bought her. Now she's really attached to us, especially my mom. She follows my mom around and everything. My mom doesn't mind it, but I can already see there is going to be some problems. And man was I right! My mom just left to go to the store right now and Bonnie (the pup) is winning and won't sit still. She is anxious. I know she has anxiety for my mom being gone and it doesn't seem like anyone can do anything unless they're sitting right next to her petting her non-stop. Well my dad is cleaning and my sisters want to go outside to play. I have some chores to do myself... My question is, what would a trainer do in this situation...? For like right now until my mom gets home and then I can work with her (I know how to train a dog basically)

Any suggestions for right now since no one can sit with her? :?
