The inability to breed Mutts

I know a lot of people won't like this.. but I just realized a few things. -You can't breed them. -A lot of them are pointless and hopeless in eventing. -There's no real reason to breed them because its not like real life, where mutt breedings can bring in the best (and the worst) of each breed. It's just a bunch of numbers and letters jumbled together, that can't even be reproduced. -Nobody buys mutts, especially ones that have poor stats. Just like you can't breed half-brothers to half-sisters, I would suggest not being able to breed dogs of different breeds.

i agree. Im real life i Love them and my baby is a mutt.. but on VP theyre mostly bred by novices for 50$ and thats bad. I kinda halfway blame Sponsors too.. maybe if we HELPED novices once in a while they'd understand a little more and be better off.. helping VP. novices.. and us... wow.. random.. sry xD

if i wasnt attempting mi aussie program i would have one for mutts. im doing mutts after i finish with the aussies. but if we couldnt breed dogs of different breeds, then we wouldnt have the wolf hybrids either. and i rather enjoy both. and if you import a mutt it's breedable i do believe.

Really? Who would want to import a Mutt, breed it, and then not be able to breed its babies? Wolf hybrid.. isn't that an actual breed? Because if it wasn't, then it would just show up as "Mutt" wouldn't it?

yes, you can import a breedable mutt, and if people didn't care about breeding so much, they'd be fine. But they are over bred. I don't get it, because people want breedable dogs, but they usually don't breed them.

mutts can actually do better than some of the full breeds in shows. ive had mutts that do mushing better than huskys and malamutes. and truthfully, the only thing that makes people not like them is because irresponsible breeders breed too many of them and they end up being inbred and have terrible stats. i bred a few high statted ones and they do well. i did mean for them to be wolf hybrids but they turned out mutts instead. *shrugs* but also like the puggle and labradoodle are naturally mutts. like if you were to breed a labrador and a poodle on here it would turn out as a mutt but it should turn out as a labradoodle, as with the puggle.

Yeah. I'm not gunna call VP ppl on adding designer breeds, but it all doesn't make sense. As for the inbreeding, because the ability to breed stops after 1 generation of Mutt, they won't be too inbred. Purebreds are probably more inbred than Mutts. I think that's so weird.. Like is it because it's a Mutt that it's doing better than purebreds? Or is it just the stats? I'm sure one could work to make purebreds with stats that surpass Mutt stats, and it wouldn't be very hard.

i dont get the designer dogs on here either. They kinda annoy me personally. but ah well... but it might be better to give only sponsor breeders the ability to breed mutts.. people who want them can have them and theyd all be bred responsibly cuz i do have a few show mutts myself

I say we just leave the mutts. Like someone said..I bet we wouldn't mind them as much with people didn't breed so many of them. Some novices will get a hang of it and mutts are cheaper for them to buy so they can have some dogs. I say we just leave it..I dont find it a big deal really. If anything..I think there shouldn't be mixes like labradoodles. They are mutts and it causes people to get confused when they breed labs and poodles and get mutts. Those just cause confusion and they are just mutts. *shrugs*

Nothing's going to happen with the mutts. They are, for all intensive purposes in this game, a breed. No matter that they are neutered at birth save for imports. If you don't like that other people breed them, just ignore it and continue on your way. It's not hurting you to do so.

yes, you can import a breedable mutt, and if people didn't care about breeding so much, they'd be fine. But they are over bred. I don't get it, because people want breedable dogs, but they usually don't breed them.

What would you suggest we do for novices who unknowningly spend what little money they have buying a labrador and poodle, hoping to get a labradoodle, do when they find out they can't breed them? At least with the mutts, they can attempt to sell them or train them and they've learned a lesson. As was said, if you don't like mutts, don't buy them, don't look at them.

What an excellent point! Perhaps, if sponsors were to take more of an interest in novices and trying to help them, there wouldn't be some many of the "bad" mutts.

i would love to see mutts breedable! i never got that they werent in the first place. they are just as breedable as any dog in rl so why not on here?
