For every 10 upgrades/renewals bought through the same paypal account w/in a year, one free one is awarded. Same w/dyes and imports. Not a loss for Nef. b/c not that many people buy that much. Me likey.

Hmm I would be qualified for this if there was such a thing. xD Well I don't know..Nef would have to keep track wouldn't she? Or would paypal have a nice list? I wouldn't know really since I only spend money and not get it. xD I do think it would be a nice idea to have something like that sorted out.

yeah paypal keeps your history, sending and receiving. even if it was for every 10 transactions you get one free of equal or lesser value that would be awesome. and it seems like nef would have all payments on file, i mean it's a game for us but it's a business for her.

Hmm *nods* How would we know when we reach the 10 items mark? Would there be an in-game message? Would there be something on our kennel to click and claim it? Trying to get a good picture of it.

that would be ideal, but we'd probably send her the 10 transaction id's with what free item we wanted and then she'd verify and put our selection on one of our accounts like she does w/the imports etc.

the great thing about paypal is that each transaction has a unique number. they actually call them unique transaction id numbers lol. and paypal keeps a detailed history too. but also her verifying them would make sure no one was trying to cheat.

I don't think we need this. We get awards for being a sponsor. Why does she need to give things away for free? Plus for those people that send in money orders what about them?

the awards being those breeds? not everyone likes those. the perks we get for being sponsors we pay for. and certian people do get things for free right? i don't see anything wrong with spending 250 and getting a 1 free upgrade. or 100 and getting 1 free dye. i think the same thing could be done with money orders by using the sender's address, but that only works if records are properly being kept. and not everyone would keep the free whatevers to themselves. some people on this game actually do give away things to people that need and or want them. i know it would never happen but it seems like a good idea. most business do things to show customer appreciation. hell even if instead of free, a discounted price for that 11th one.

It is a wonderful idea, but I could see this tuning nasty... I mean, so many people have brilliant ideas, but they can never be accomplished because of the results for the immature people who just want to start fights on VP. Even though VP doesn't have anything to do with twilight, there were fights over when people should and should not be able to express their views... Players just want reasons to start an uproar. Imagine all the people who have already bought 20 sponsor upgrades in the years that they have played. I am sure nef has not kept their records, because she could not foresee some idea like this taking shape. Those people of course would start screaming at everyone and posting vent threads because THEY could not get 2 free sponsor upgrades. Any new idea that gets introduced to this community is bashed. It sounds brilliant now, but could -possibly- turn nasty. Just giving my personal opinion. People can feel free to correct me or give other opinions. I may be wrong.

I think a way for this to work would be for the person who wanted to get the free upgrade/item after the first 10 would have to show a proof of purchase for those 10. Kinda like how a lot of businesses offer a buy so many, get one free, but read the fine print and you have to show proof of purchase before you get the free one. That would take most of the work from nef having to search through years worth of payment files to find every one who has brought 10. As for people with money orders, I'm one of them! I have all the money order stubs from 2006-2009! Yup, I've kept them this whole time, because some times it can take a few weeks for an order to go through, and once one got misplaced, but sense I had the stub I was able to help nef find it. The trophy/fantastical/super/virtual rewards were awesome of Nef to do, and the players really don't have to do anything to receive them besides click the link. Thats why I think it should be up to the person who wants the 11th deal to keep track of these things. This is how most places run those deals any how.

Absolutely, Evy! That's how all good businesses run their customer rewards programs - and in my experience, such programs are very lucrative. Besides, as it has been said before, that's just good business. Oh, and Topleaf - just to let you know - most of the time when businesses start this kind of plan, they say, "Applicable to all purchases made after -this- date." Or, they do as Evy suggests and require "proof of purchase." Hope this goes through, I think it could make Nef more money than it would cost her!

Yup, because if you say, oh btw if you buy this many we'll give you one free! People are like zomg really? I'll buy $250 worth to save $25, when they normally would not have spent the $250. And just consider! There have been about 5 personal breeds brought so far? What if some one brought 10 of those for a deal like that? That's an easy another easy 500 right there! But the applicable after this date I believe people would gripe about, which is why I would do proof of purchase method then is more of a your fault for not keeping the stubs for this stuff kinda thing. I personally would be angry at myself and not Nef if I had tossed out my stubs, so no anger would be directed at her.

And - if any anger were to be directed at Nef, it would be ridiculous! Why in the world would you be angry because you didn't bother to keep records you should have been keeping anyway? When all it means is that you aren't going to be able to get special promotions, and has no real negative effect at all! People are silly, but come on - "not fair?" Really? Pffft! :P

lol, and i'm horrible at keeping receipts, which is why (one of the many reasons) i have a paypal account, does the job for me. the reward breeds are a great way to give back to the players, but if given a choice between getting reward breeds just for being a sponsor, and spending a little extra to get a little extra, i'd def. opt for the latter. evlon, your example makes me think of the deals at bath and body works; buy 3 and get the 4th one free. so instead of spending 11 for the body lotion, you end up spending about $50 to get a free item you weren't going to buy in the first place. i was an employee there for years, and i still fell for every single deal that came out lmao.
