Time of year (not really a vent as such)

edited January 2009 in Vent
Well it's that time of year again, when the joys (heh) of christmas are over and the depressivness of the New Year looms large.
So I would just like to appolagize in advance if I seem a little off for the next couple of months.

My New Year plans consist of me curling up somewhere warm in the fetal position, rocking gently and hope to the Gods that it's over soon.

I do however wish everybody else a pleasent New Year and hope that it brings you all lots of prospects.

The New Year brings new challenges, but it's just a constant reminder of all those things which I planned to do, but just never got round to.
I had hoped that by the time I was 26 I would have a BF, maybe even engaged/married, and planning a child, but it wasn't to happen.

These are my reasons for being a little off sorts, and I do appolagize, but I do truly hope that everyone enjoys their new starts. Good luck and take care people.

I'll be seeing you all around :)

  • Poor mash :(

If you feel that depressed about not accomplishing what you set out to do, go easy on everything else and DO WHAT YOU NEED TO this very minute xD
I know how you feel - I have tried to end a bad habit of mine for many MANY years. I've gotten truly sick from hearing myself telling me "Stop, just STOP! You can end all of this in one moment!" Heh, I actually turn on my iPod and listen to Hilary Duff's "Fly" song for some encouragement and it works, too... Actually I was so frustrated with myself once that I blasted it in my ear. I winced and even closed my eyes tightly for how loud it was (not expecting something so loud and irritating in my ear). I thought this would help me get the message through and let it stick, but instead, I could hardly hear the rest of the night. (Hearing was fine in the morning though xD)

I'm not 100% sure that this was what you meant... but I hope I helped anyway xD Good luck! *hugs*
  • if it makes you feel any better, i'm 27 w/a boyfriend and child, and i miss the carefree days sometimes lol. there's nothing like wanting to go somewhere, and just being able to do it w/out having to get a child (and another adult) dressed and ready.
It's just life. You'll get over it.
  • I am right there with you nutty....32, 2 girls & a boyfriend. I too miss the carefree days of just a walk around the block without getting all the family ready to go. I love my kids, but I do miss the good old days, goin out to the clubs not to worry about babysitters...wont be like that again til i hit retirement age LOL

Don't be too sad mash, I was like you at your age and look at me now  Just remember 09 is a new year, a new leaf in life. Don't let things get you down, enjoy your friends now :)

It's just life. You'll get over it.

  • Ahh, thanks so much guys. You have helped, truly you have.
I know I shouldn't wish my life away so to speak, but I do so want kids.

*sighs* One day.....I KNOW that the right bloke is out there somewhere, just gotta get his finger out and find me lol.

It's actually quite nice to hear from others that are adult. As you say, sometimes the "drama's" of some on here seem almost heaven to me. lol

But thanks again guys, and Happy New Year.
