Horse Sketch - First Tablet Drawing [Critique?]

Besides doodles and stuff. I've already gotten some awesome critique from Jelly But just wanted to see if anyone else could offer a bit more.

Redline please, if it's needed ^^ ( Or.. maybe use a different color since I used red xD) Just looking to be more correct anatomy-wise. Cookies and chocolate to all who read. ;DD Oh, and.. Canvas was too small to finish the leg. I'll fix that later xDD

Ok, NOW can I say you draw better than me? xD I love its face, neck and hoves but for all I know they could be disporportioned in the worst sense so you get no critique from me! ;P Nice job! ^^

Nope, can't see the images on my tablet. Just a black surface. xDD Only shows up on the computer That's the hardest part I think. Not looking down at my hand but up instead.

XD I've posted a few sketches on here before Not really much though. If people want to see more of it, I'll make an art dump and update you all on the stuff I've done. ;3 Thanks Dreamy and tarn. xD I only usually post something if I'm really proud of it, and I was with this. It being my first drawing on a tablet and all. xD Only problem is, I usually end up hating my work, so nothing ever gets posted.

Bad Ludie! Although, it'll only do you any good for horses. Anything else I attempt is a complete FAIL. But I wanna start studing canine anatomy, and maybe a few others, cause I'd love to be able to do dogs as well. xD To only get this far with my "skills" although I doubt I have much, took me 3 years. Later I'll find something that I drew when I first started, and something I was proud of back then xDD It'll be interesting. ;P And, thanks Kesra. xD I'm gonna take a chance and guess that's a good shocked face, and not the bad one. :P So, would any of you like to see more art from me? If you do, I'll make an art dump of some sort. xD

:D Thank you all. I'd have to say the face is probably my favorite part too. Although, I keep arguing with myself if the head and neck are a bit too small. Jelly says it is, others say it isn't. But I'm not about to redraw it. xD I'll tell you though, it didn't start out like that. It got better after lots of awesome critique from Middy

Otherwise it'd still look like a weiner dog with horse legs and head.. >.>

ATTEMPTING to color.. >_> Not turning out so well xD But.. I've never really done coloring before. Does it look good, or should I retry with a different method? Oh, and the scribbles on the head is more shading I haven't dealt with yet xD This is probably the last update you'll see for a few days, but I'll get back to work on it when I get back from my Great Grandma's [Wednesday] Thanks to all who have looks, commented, and critiqued

It looks great! One thing I noticed, and I don't know if you did it on purpose or not, but on the lined and colored version, it looks a bit stockier and heavier. The legs look a bit shorter and the torso thicker. Did you mean to do this? I love it! -Rosy

The only thing I see is that a part on the back leg, dont know what it's called, but it's a little pointy, maybe in the future round it a little bit more other than that, excellent

Darker shadows, brighter highlights, blend them with colors in between. That's my way of shading. =D

I all see what you mean now you've pointed it out xD Thank god for different layers.. hey?! So, I'll fix those up. I did mean to make the legs stockier/thicker, but not shorter

I do see I've dopne that though. And.. the pointy hock really bugs me. I'll fix that on Wednesday too x3 Thanks Dreamy, I'll work on that. How do you think the neck looks where I've been trying to add a texture to the fur? I'm not sure if it looks horrible or not.

Well, I think some highlights would be of help. You could do a very light brown and just block that in. Then blend. As for the fur texture, it looks very good so far, I'd make a new layer when you finish shading and with a small brush, zoom in and make small brush strokes to give it a furrier texture, but not to the point of shaggy, of course.

It looks wonderful!! I think you did a great job, the only thing I see is that the legs are a bit short, but that might just be because they're not all the way completed. I love it!

I have issues with short and thin legs xD So.. I fixed the thin-ness.. in the process of shortening the legs again, the first two xD Thank you
