Hey there! Long time no see from Zag on the forums!! Anyhow, I've got a question for all you real life dog owners out there!

What brand of dog food to you guys feed your pets?
My dog has something other then this right now but I'm switching him back to it. It's called Fromm. It's a really good food and my dog loves it!
http://www.frommfamily.com/

I'm very picky about my dog food.
It cannot contain...
Corn (Corn meal is a popular one in most Big brand dog foods)
Wheat
By-Products
(and that's just a few) xD
Be careful when you read the ingredients. Make sure it doesn't say "Meat" or "Bird" next to something because that could mean any sort of meat or bird, even road kill. :S

The nice thing about Fromm is it's made to order meaning if a store orders it they make it when they get an order.
It's stated on their website that they make their food in a "fit only for human consumption plant" which is good! XD
http://www.frommfamily.com/quality-pledge.php

Pretty much what I have found is if the food is sold at grocery stores and "Big box" stores like Wal-Mart and Shopko then it's usually not a high quality food.
A couple of my dogs are on "Science PLan" due to them having special dietary requirements.

The others are on James Wellbeloved (My ferrets also have that brand of ferret food) I find it very good.
Eagle Pack Holistic for the dogs and cats.. Sometimes Solid Gold for treats.

-edit- These weren't recalled either.. Wasn't that recall terrifying though?
We feed our sled dogs and outside dogs Nutra Nuggets. It's a brand I -think- is only made here in Alaska. It's got a high protien and fat content for the winters. And we've been feeding it to them for the past 15 yrs. (since we moved up to Alaska). Our small dogs/indoor dogs eat Purina Pro Plan, or Purino One Puppy (for the pups).
My dad feeds his indoor dogs Beneful. And we also did Kibbles and Bits while down in Michigan (this was the closest thing we could find to the Nutra Nugget Brand to keep the outside dogs on). They had no problem switching over.

But I really think it just depends on where you live, what brands are available, and what you're really looking to feed them.

We've always fed dogfood whose first and 2nd ingredients were Chicken or Lamb and Brewers Rice/Rice.- These are what to look at when trying to find a good brand of food for your dog.

-Our brands werent recalled.

I know I didnt touch Beneful or Kibbles N' Bits for awhile after the recall though just to be safe.
If you've ordered anything, please be patient with me. Having volcano/ash troubles. Msg me for more info, and I'll get back to you asap!! Thankies!!
I really like the looks of Fromm. I've been looking at the site, how much does this food usually run price wise?

The price isn't too bad (from what I remember). I can't remember for sure though! XD I'm going to the pet store that sells it here today, if they're open so I can look for you!
I feed her Kirkland Signature Rice & Chicken or something. Her coat is shiny and she has plenty of energy for a senior dog. I would like to switch her over to Eagle Pack Super Premium though.
"war cry" presas canarios, aryan molossus, and cao.
