Massimo!!

edited January 2009 in Artist Alley
Ok, I hope this is allowed. I just drew it.. he's no actual person or anything. The thing about this is,
I NEVER draw. Only when I "feel like it" or whatever.
Constructive critique is widely welcomed.. but only from experienced artists.
I named him Massimo, since he does look a little Italian or something... and maybe Spanish.
 (He's HOT whatever he is.)
And I didn't feel like drawing pec muscles so the pic ends at his collar bone.
NO TAKAGE!!!! or else I will have you reported!!!!!!!
I have proof that it's mine.. I have the original drawing on my wall.

<img src="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s167/convinceyou/MASSIMO.jpg"; alt="http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s167/convinceyou/MASSIMO.jpg"; class="bb-image" />

I must say... those trapeziuses are quite humungous,
no, he's not on 'roids.
&& IGNORE the ears. LOL I can't draw ears.

 • It's a good start, especially for somebody that doesn't usually draw. =]

I think it'd really help you to:
1) Draw skulls / skeletons / musculature. This sounds really morbid, but in actuality many artists do this. It helps you to understand how the body moves, basic proportions, etc.
2) Look at how to guides and tutorials, which will show you how to section off your person. Massimo is a bit asymmetrical and the perspective is a bit off, but you can fix that with a bit of time and use of proportions.. it helps if you draw some guiding lines (that you will erase later) to help you know where your eyes should be, etc. I've kind of outlined your proportions - this should show you which parts need fixing. <a href="http://imagec0rrupt3d.deviantart.com/art/Head-Drawing-67097662"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">This is a very basic kind of cartoon-ish guide on DeviantArt. <a href="http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/2866/image1gw1.png"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">Here's your picture - as you can see I don't have a tablet and I'm on my laptop with no mouse. = Drawing FAIL
3) Use a real reference - a person, a picture, something. It's easiest to draw what's right there in front of you.

4) HAVE FUN :D and keep up the great work =]
 • cool :]

i think the shoulders are too girlish... like they need to be wider.

uh... i think that was all covered in the above post tho...

Thanks a heck of a lot! I do see how he is asymmetrical now.
I'll work on him, and work on other face photos, along with musculoskeletal drawings.

Sorry, but I guess it's kind of hard to tell.. those are trapezius muscles, you know, the ones above the collar bone beside the neck?
In someone who's really muscley they are quite prominent. :)

Thanks for all the help.
