I love the blue border collie's face and the shading on the two playing tug of war. ^^
The paws on the wolf and her/his head and eyes really draw me. ^^

Sometimes you just can't please people.. They may see something in their mind and expect for you to see the same thing. X3

I really do like your style of art, it's really unique.
unique = cool ;p
WOW, you are super good at this. I do some manips with my new photoshop CS3, used to have 4.0. But ya, I really want to learn how to do this kind of thing. I saw your tutorials, and they kinda help, but I just stink at drawing. I have a bit more than a million $$s in VHR cash, is there something you could do for with that? I really want knowledge, not just one of your awsome pictures.

The best linart I have done is:

Ya, I know it sucks. Helpfull comments are ok. No, I cant do these for anyone now.
Thanks, I'm really flattered that you like my art that much.

I think the German Pointer drawing of yours is very nice, you got the shape of the head perfectly and the dappling on the coat is very cool. I love Pointers, I have an English, irl.

I charge 35mil per picture, on VHR. XD But, I can try to teach you some stuff about art and photoshop for free.

lol, thanks. Ya, I really want a GSP. I guess I cant complain though, cause I do have a choco labrador and a golden retriever. So anyway, Ya, I dont think I can aford your work, but ya. Ok, I really need help on figuring out my new photoshop CS3, do you have it? I get the basics they had on 4.0, but stuff is moved. Oh, I used to love the stamp/clone tool, but I cant find it on CS3, do you know were it went? Also, I know people use like the smudge tool and stuff alot, how does one use that? Oh, and how do you use the lighting so well? What do you do? Oh, and your backgrounds too, what do you do?

Sorry for all the question. :?

Oh, *edit*, what are tablets? I here people talking about them alot.
I don't have CS3, but I downloaded a trial version of it once. It didn't seem all that different to me, but I'm used to CS2.
I'm pretty sure all of the tools you mentioned are still over on the tool bar, although, they might look different or be hidden, if a tool has a black thing on the corner of it's key that means there are other tools on the same key. Just click the corner of it and they will be displayed in a drop-down tab (sorry if that doesn't make sense. If it doesn't, you could probably just type the name of the tool you are looking for into the little 'help' feature of photoshop and it would tell you how to access said tool.)

STAY AWAY FROM THE SMUDGE TOOL. XD Sorry, but I have to deter you before you try it. I'd learn to do everything without it first, so you don't rely on it too much and so that when you start using it you'll already have a pretty good idea of how to go about it. I've seen the smudge tool ruin a lot of good artwork because people go crazy with it (I don't use it at all. If I want something to look smooth, I use big brushes, on low opacity settings, with soft edges.). But, the smudge tool is also located on the tool bar, which is usually on the left hand side of the screen (If it's not located there just tell me and I'll explain to you how to get it back).

For my lighting, I just define a light source and then paint. It's pretty simple really. I sometimes use a gradient sort of as the sky to help get the lighting effect but it's mostly just painting.

If you go to 'render' there is a 'lighting effects' option, but I find it sort of washes stuff out.

I usually paint my backgrounds, sometimes I use a photo for the background and manip it. In general though, everything I do is painting by hand.

Hope I answered all of your questions, feel free to ask more if you may have them.

Tablets make it so you can draw right on the computer. They're basically a pen and a flat screen which you draw on. I have a Wacom Intous tablet, like this-

It's really helpful, but I can do everything with a mouse too, if I don't have it with me. It just takes longer with a mouse.

I'm sorry I'm not very good at explaining the photoshop stuff. It's sort of a thing where I'd have to show you for it to be clear. There are some good video tutorials I can find for you though, that would probably be more helpful than me just rambling on because you can actually see what they mean when they tell you something.

-is over jealous of awesome art-

I haven't improved on my dogs in the past 5 months. It fails. Dx
I don't get to draw as much anymore. ;-;

Thanks!

Well, having time to practice really helps. I get to draw all of the time (even though I'm not supposed too. XD).

Next time you have some free time for artwork, I'd suggest checking out Drawing on The Right side of The Brain by Betty Edwards (may have told you about that book before.^^ I tell everyone to use it, because it really did do wonders for me.)
