Poem - Critique

meh. i wrote this a few years ago, so thats why its a bit young, but anyways. its called Desert Orchid, after the famous racehorse... yeah, i know, im a bit random with titles..:<br><br>Time slows down in the last few furlong,<br>Galloping, Galloping, Galloping along,<br>Six hundred, five hundred metres to go,<br>Horse legs bound high and low,<br>Then two heads come away from the pack,<br>Soon come the necks, followed by the backs,<br> <br>The last brush wick jump is nearing fast,<br>The snap of twigs, then all in the past,<br>The two front-runners are still in the lead,<br>Both of them know only one can succeed,<br>The two jockeys whip their horse’s flanks,<br>As they try and climb the last steep bank,<br><br>The finishing post is only a hundred metres away,<br>The winning heads flash grey and bay,<br>The jockey in blue begins to drive,<br>His grey horse becomes even more alive,<br>His strides become longer, and comes on the bit, <br>He turns more powerful, his candle is lit,<br>He pulls away, still on his toes,<br>Gallops past the finish line, and wins by a nose.<br><br><img src="http://www.race.btinternet.co.uk/images/06photosddesertorchidmontage.jpg"; alt="http://www.race.btinternet.co.uk/images/06photosddesertorchidmontage.jpg"; class="bb-image" /><br><br><br>please give critique... but please not too harsh
