Sophie Lancaster Foundation

well, as you may have noticed, I have fashioned myself a new banner signature, featuring S.O.P.H.I.E (Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred, and Intolerance Everywhere) and I would like to share it with all of you : )<br><br>The Sophie Lancaster Foundation was formed when Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend Robert Maltby were assaulted for dressing as goths in Lancashire, UK, in August of 2007. They were attacked viciously for no other reason than dressing differently from their attackers, a few teens who happened to be watching as they walked through the park. Sophie had been protecting her boyfriend when the teens turned on her, and started kicking, punching, and jumping on her head, while a shocked bystander watched, and rang 999. Maltby pulled through, while Sophie slipped into a coma and never regained consciousness. <br><br>Prejudice is a despicable thing, to judge someone just because they look or dress different, and listen to different music. Just because they want to be unique, people are targeted both physically and verbally. There have been other reports by individuals who choose to dress uniquely, claiming they have been assaulted because of the way they dress.
