A Clean-Up Week

Well, I've noticed how bad the stats and bloodlines are for many dogs here. I know it's a virtual game, but it's getting sort of crowded in my opinion. I don't know. Some people don't agree with releasing 'poor inoccent dogs' because they did nothing wrong. Umm... of course they did nothing wrong! They're not real. I think we should have clean-up week, sort of a yearly thing or something where players get to help out and purchase free or cheap dogs that have bad stats and release/retire them. It could even make a difference if every single active player bought one dog and release/retired it. Then we'd have a couple... hundred thousand dogs gone xD I've no clue what others' opinions are on this, but you can post them ;] Just so you know, if you'd like to have your opinion submitted in my little Ludie newspaper [XD] write 'Ludie Newspaper Submition' below your opinion when you post it. Thanks. Okay... so... has this been brought up before?

Yes, this sounds good. It makes me laugh when people feel bad about releasing/retiring their poor little dogs, hello, they are computer generated. I know this game is realistic, but not that much. We've got to help VP out, not just keep doing what we're doing, It's like pollution.

And pollution is bad. I know that when I was an ignorant little novice I didn't know a thing about dog breeding and did whatever xD I've made up for that by doing my part, but that doesn't mean everyone has. If some people don't go for it, I think I'll organize one anyhow. Unless there are too many people in disagreement. [Secret] I used to think it was mean to release/retire dogs on VP... xD I thought the game was so realistic it should be treated realisticly... XD And I thought it was more of a roleplay [which it is, we're all roleplaying as handlers, breeders, trainers, etc] and we had to do what we would do in real life. XD I wasn't too smart. [/Secret]

OKAY! Sounds good! How about it? Let's do it. ;P We should do one breed at a time. And don't buy the bad dogs that say, like, '$100,000' you'll just waste time and money, plus the person will be rewarded for pricing their dog so high and breeding it xD

I love the idea, I've been doing something similar to this for a while now but I could only do the dogs that are for sale because I don't have a rescue kennel but it would be great if someone who does gets on board with us

I completely agree. I think we should let a lot of novices and other reckless breeders that we will take the dogs. If we have a list of kennels that they can drop dogs off at, people might "donate" their dogs. It would also be kind of cool if everyone keeps track of how many they release/retire so we can compare the numbers to the next time we do it. -Rosy

You should talk to Ruatha about the mutts, she and some sponsors started weeding out a lot of the mutts a while back. Also I believe I've access to a sponsor rescue or two. And frequently clean up common breeds (huskies, mutts, labs ect..)

"Cleaning up" is not against the rules as long as you don't rub it in other player's faces what you're doing. IE, telling people they breed crap dogs, making them feel badly or arguing with a player about how they get the most joy out of playing the game. It is a game and some folks just like to breed their dogs, they aren't breaking any rules by doing so. That said (and this is my personal opinion only, not Op opinion) you do realize that when you buy a badly statted dog, the player may think they're doing something right and breed more badly statted dogs, right? In a way, you are rewarding them by paying them to do it.

exactly ^^ how about instead of buying dogs you just stick to the ones you can rescue or get donated? no money involved, so they werent rewarded. plus.. the actuality of weeding out every bad statted dog is highly unlikely. buttt on the other hand, if you did manage to reduce them a lot, the dogs left would be worth 'more' cause they is less dogs, and probably still the same demand. so it would help vps community if you could accomplish it. which... the economy has only gone downhill from influxation of vpc... anyways im off topic. theres my opinion

Sounds good. Okay I have a rescue kennel, and i'm gonna go to work on weeding out some bad dogs. I'll keep a counter on all dogs I release/retire as of 10/16/08

I like that idea, it does get anoying to see a butt load of worthless dogs everywere you turn, i'm just a novice account player but im still going to strt weeding out bad dogs and AT LEAST neutering them so they can screw up the game anymore

Let's not let this idea die out like some others... just wait... and we could get a whole program dedicated, maybe. Hope, faith, and a little bit of work is all it takes, and we could make VP better!

It'd all be going out to cleaning VP up AND people would get something out of their pure effort. SOUND LIKE A PLAN?! Who wants to host it with me? Someone who will be loyal to do so. First come, first serve.
