Hm, well i had to do a project..about horses. And we had to find a male and female horse. I asked the teacher if we could draw them instead..and she said yes. And so here is my lurvley horsey..male. It took 3 hours, 57 minutes, and 52 seconds. My hand is about to fall off.. <img src="http://i35.tinypic.com/1tsmft.png"; alt="http://i35.tinypic.com/1tsmft.png"; class="bb-image" /> um, yes the hair is a little crappy. i don't know how to do hair.. so if you have any hints, tips..please tell them to me.

i drew the lineart on a paper. scanned it. re-drew the lineart on the computer. colored it on the computer... it took FOREVER! this is the first time i tried anything like this...

I've found it helps to draw hair in chunks, and then draw lines to get actual hair quality. *digs around for an example* <img src="http://fc94.deviantart.com/fs29/i/2008/163/6/f/How_I_Used_To_Be_WIP_by_Kesshi.png"; alt="http://fc94.deviantart.com/fs29/i/2008/163/6/f/How_I_Used_To_Be_WIP_by_Kesshi.png"; class="bb-image" /> for example. I gave up on coloring him. xD; But it shows the hair well enough. And no, that man has -never- seen daylight. So thar. D< And... I didn't draw him. ;-;

The only thing that I could see that would help would to maybe like, blend the hair after, like kazuko said, draw it in like chunks and use a few different colours. I really do like it tho. I can only draw dogs, snakes, and .... Duh-dun-duh, dinosaurs! Lol. But yeah I can only draw the heads so u did a whole heck of a lot better than I couldve. ^.^

Yes, it would help a lot. But I really wasn't trying to work on the hair..so i didn't really care about it. But the other horse that i made, i paid more attention to the hair. It looks a little better..but still pretty suckish.

o_o very purty. I dont know much about horses, everything but basic anatomy is lost on me. So to me it looks fantastic. The hair is a bit off, but that you already know. You wouldnt happen to be doing commissions would you? -grin-
