• It's not the program that makes the artist. I suggest you go on deviantart.com and look up some tutorials. They're very helpful.
You can drawing them traditionally and scan/take a picture and put them on your computer and then get some critique for the drawing.

 • ok whats a scanne and devian art?

 • Scan. Like a scanner. Ask your parents, or if you know how to, you hook it up to your computer to basically take a picture and put it right onto your computer. It's better quality than a camera, but a camera and then putting it on your computer works as well.

Deviantart.com is where artists show off there art, provide tutorials, etc. Like I said, go to that website and type in "drawing a dog tutorial" or something like that and press search. You'll get quite a few responses and look at them.

 • DeviantArt.com is a website that is filled with artwork by people. Some of it is absolutely amazing. Artists also make tutorials so you can see how something is done.

And a scanner is something that copies your picture and puts it on the computer. Some scanners can be included in some printers. Like my printer can copy/print/fax/scan.

Yes as Dreamy said. Programs don't make the artist. I decided to take art classes in school and they are helping a lot. I learned the principles of design, elements of design, face proportions, one point and two point perspective. All of this was within a month and I already did some projects. :D

[edit] Dreamy beat me while I was typing! D; *thawps* lmao

 • I've never had art classes. The plans for the summer ones fell through.. I'm in an art club. But all she really explains in not to draw people walking into the edge of the paper, since the club is mostly made up of 4 year olds. xD So I do not count that.

 • For clubs at my school i picked art club

 • Lineart isn't the only art, and as the the others said, the program does not make the artist, never start out with digital programs when you start drawing.

I suggest learning the basics for right now. Anatomy basics. 3-D box like basics. Don't worry about showing your art to anyone now, art isn't just for attention and comments, sometimes art can just be for yourself.

Also, never copy a picture exactly, that's not "referencing" as some people say, that's copying a picture exactly, which is stealing.

 • What? We're just asking why you're now closing your post? We're all just giving you advice from our own experiences. If you're referring to what Alliieennss is saying, she's not being rude, no is she accusing you. She's telling you both advice and what you should never do. =]

I'm not trying to start a fight, I'm just saying that you shouldn't like, trace a photo, no fights going on here.

What she means is, if you look at a picture. Like this one for instance:
<img src="http://i36.tinypic.com/dbiq78.png"; alt="http://i36.tinypic.com/dbiq78.png"; class="bb-image" />

Don't copy it hair for hair.
