Cholera Paper

Dear London Health Officials,

I am writing on the cholera epidemic that has struck our homes yet again, and this time I have new evidence- cholera was caused by bacterium in the water at Pump A, located on Broad Street, at the top of Little Windmill Street. The cholera was spread rapidly due to several things: The dead, waiting to be picked up by the undertaker, the sewage- infested London water, doctor's clothing, and possibly their insturments, and the workhouse on Poland Street. The victims, young and old, of all races and social dispositions, lived within a block of eachother, served by S and V water companies. S and V has created the most deaths in London; Lambeth Water Companies moved ten miles upstream, away from the infested waters.

A way to prevent the dreaded cholera is to burn the bodies in an enclosed bio-hazard area, using facial or gas masks, and then burn everything the victim touched while having the disease. Another way to prevent cholera is for doctors, such as myself, and hospitals. Wash all clothes, sheets, and any insturments used or worn while treating cholera victims in scalding hot water, then hainging them up to dry throughly, away from all rivers, water pumps, sewers, and infected houses.
Thank you for your time, and I'm glad I was able to research the cholera subject.
Sincerely, your friend,
Dr. John Snow, M.D.

What do you think?
