I just cant believe that its been seven years already. It still seems so fresh in my memory.

Yes, I remember watching it in second grade on TV.

It still amazes me that there really are sick, twisted people in this world

I also cant believe that it's been 3 years (last July) since the London bombings. It literally makes me sick that there are such evil people out there.
Yus.

It annoys the living daylights out of me, not to mention hurts, because of the 3000 people that died.

it amazed me about some of the stories that caused people to be late to work such as:
the guy that went to take his son to the first day of kindergarten
the guy that had to buy a bandaid because his new shoes put a blister on his foot
the guy that had to buy donuts because it was his turn

it just amazes me that these people were put in that place for a specific purpose.

If it wern't for the fact that I keep my emotions under my shell, I would have.

I remember exactly 7 years ago I was in school (a small grade), and our middle school had no tv, no internet, nothing, all they knew was that something horrid happened, and parents were pulling their kids out of school. They all can into out school, just to gather in the main office and watch the only tv with cable to see what was going on.

They wouldn't tell us what was happening, they told us lies, to make us feel better. I remember someone got a call from their mom, saying their Grandma might be dead, but the school wouldn't tell the boy why, just that part of the message. One of my close friends heard from his mom who worked at the school, that a plane crashed in New York, and many people were killed.

It was 133 miles away from us, we have many inportant things in our state, so we were scared. They kept classes in our school going as normal, so we wouldn't get too scared, but rumurs pread fast when there are only 60 kids in your grade. When I got home, my mom told me, and I didn't understand much, just that some planes flew into some buildings. I didn't relize the importance until a few years later.

We had to write about this a year or two ago, about what we did that day, because we all remember everything that happened. I know a friend of mine was in New York that day, a few towns away with his Grandpa, he woke up to see that all over the news.

For all who knew anyone in that tragic lose, I am sorry to you. All who died on that tragic day, we will all miss you.

-edit- Sunny, it shouldn't be a Holiday. It was a tragic day, and we should all remember what happened that day, but it shouldn't be a Holiday.
I was in 3rd grade when it happened. I walked into class (which starts at 9am) so both planes had already hit the buildings. My teacher had her tv on and was standing in front of it with her mouth open.

Like a-sap, I really didn't get the importance of it. I had no idea how bug the planes were or how many people were in the building. I sorta shrugged it off. I stood and watched for a little bit.

I can't really remember more than seeing my teacher with shock on her face. My school told us what happened. Since the school was in Ohio, kids weren't really pulled out like if you lived in New York. I can't remember if anyone left.

I think our whole school went outside that day and they surrounded the flag pole and we stood out there for a good length of time around the American Flag. I really wish I could remember more.

**I think it should give families that lost people the right to stay home and mourn. I don't think everyone should get it off though. Silent moments and reviewing what happened is good.
-edit- Sunny, it shouldn't be a Holiday. It was a tragic day, and we should all remember what happened that day, but it shouldn't be a Holiday.

This may start an arguement, but, if you want to contradict my point, please message me

September 11th took over three thousand lives, and it should be made a holiday to remember those who have been lost.

Just like Mermorial day
and Labor/Labour day.

It should be, and that is my personal opinion.

I was in Kindergarten, people took their kids out like crazy.

I live down in Texas though, but I live in one of the biggest cities in the nation

I really honor everyone that died.. all the innocent lives.

Today, at school, we saw a video of the crash.. and a song that matched it. The song was beautiful - the video made our teacher cry :[

I was sad today too. My friends didn't care. Except for one. xD

But yeah... I'll probably write a poem for it ;3

-EDIT-
It took 2,974 lives
It was a really tragic blow to the U.S.A....
Very tragic time in our history.
well i was including the pentagon anfd feild crash. idk if you were too...

i dont know about national... it didnt really affect the whole world, but it would sure be nice not to have school today! lol

Actually it did affect the whole world, but I do agree that it should be a holiday in the US. I still remember today what I was doing, and freaking out when planes flew low...and I live in south australia!! So I can just imagine how people in the US are feeling.

But even if there is no holiday, the victims will always be remembered on this day. All over the world.
Agreed. I don't think it matters WHERE you live, the tragedy was so huge that it affected everyone. I just remember it being so quiet. I was working at the time and all the workers had gathered into the cafe where the tv was. Even the animals at the sanctuary seemed subdued, the dogs didn't bark so much it was so weird, like they were picking up on our grief.

I personally don't think it's something to celebrate with a holiday though. Yes by all means remember the day and honour the lost lives but it seems somehow disrespectful to me to have a holiday.

But each to their own. At the end of the day I live in England so we probably wouldn't anyway. It's upto the U.S Government if they feel its appropriate.

But never forget, no matter what.
