Tablets.

edited August 2008 in General Discussion
I'm thinking of asking my parents/family for a tablet for my birthday. :]
So, any suggestions to which tablet I should buy, or any specific brands? I'll just be using it to draw on the comp [duh] and I'll be using PS7 as my graphics program. :] I've heard that Wacoms are very good, one of the best.

I would really like some comments and input. :D
Thanks ^^

 • Mhm. It's really awesome. You can set it up on your program to different effects. Opacity lowers/raises and such depending on how hard you press, or you can set it up to effect the size.. Stuff like that. =3

hehe
People used to always PM me about mine too!
:D

And as Dreamy said, you can set the opacity/size/thickness/ect. to pressure so depending on how hard you press, the effect will change.
It's awsome.

 • I got my tablet last weeek :D It's a Wacom Bamboo Fun, 6x8, and so far it's been brilliant. I have had a few problems with the driver, which seems to need reinstalling every couple of times I use it, but I think I've just done something wrong and it's got nothing to do with the tablet xD

I got mine for about AU$280. I think it's got 512 levels of pressure sensitivity, but I really don't think I'll ever need anything more than that. I think it's very good value, especially if you don't already have a good art program as the the bundled software is pretty good. I've actually found it easier than drawing on paper, mostly because it's quicker to erase, and much easier to colour :3

I'd go to a store and see if you can try some out to see what size suits you.
