GETTING A FROGGIE!! SPLEEE!!!

edited July 2008 in General Discussion
I'm getting a frog and have no clue how to take care of one. I'm catching crickets in my backyard, we will have one side of the tank water, the other land. ANY TIPS appreciated.

 • Perhaps you should research before purchasing your pet. It is irresponsible as a pet owner to be unprepared for the animal you are about to take on.

There are probably plenty of informing websites for you to look at. Check out google.

 • I never researched before I bought any of my lizards. =P
And they are all healthy and happy. ;]

As for catching your crickets outside. Are you purchasing the frog at a petstore or catching him from the wild? If you are getting him from a store I advise you not to feed him wild caught prey. Always buy them at a pet store or bait shop. Bait shops are alot cheaper also. The wild crickets could bring in disease or they could have pesticides on them that you do not know about.
Also most frogs need high humidity in there tanks. Need eco earth on the floor. And somuch other stuff. xD
I can give you a good forum that have all kinds of reptile caresheets and people to answer your questions. Just pm me if you want the link. ;]

But that doesn't meant you shouldn't. Researching an animal before you get it will help you be prepared for any illness it might get, research helps you recognize signs of illness and it gives lots of tips on making the animal happy and healthy.
