Rid of rescue kennels.

Players are losing MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars worth of show dogs, in kennels they haven't logged on to. If we can't clean up old kennels, why should we 'clean up' all the old dogs. It is NOT fair for somebody who paid and worked for a dog, to have it taken away after so long. Its also not fair for some person to steal somebody else's work. I'm sure people get greater pride for establishing their own International Level Goodie Dye, then 'stealing' somebody else's. RID OF SPONSOR RESCUE KENNELS.

They shouldn't have left for that long if they didn't want it taken. It only takes a couple minutes to log on at least once every two weeks, or something like that. If they took out rescue kennels think how much money the people of vp would lose. Real money!!

Rescue Kennels could be replaces with the kennel of your choice. I completely agree that people are losing dogs that are worth millions. Sometimes things happen and you can't get on. It's not fair, the kennel just sits there anyway. What's the point in taking the dogs out of it? At least before rescue kennels could only take out the dogs in poor condition. Now they can get their paws on other peoples one of a kind dyes and everything. It's ridiculous. I'm all for your idea, Inertia.

Rescues are based on the rescues in real life. They take dogs that haven't had a owner in a while (6 months) and take them, and can do whatever they wish to them afterwards. It doesn't take that much time/effort to log in 2 times a year.

Well.. I'm kind of so-so for this one. I mean, I see Parker's and Inertia's point, but I also see sap's and Tuff's point. xDD Seremela had to spend millions of dollars getting back her show dogs and giftys from a rescue that even bred her rare gifty. But it doesn't take much to check on your dogs. Maybe you could ask a trusted friend to log in for you, if you know you're going to be gone. But sometimes things do happen in real life, and you have no time for games. Sooooo.. I think I agree. xD [How do you vote?! XD]

I see everybody's points ^_^ But, rescuing kennels only rescue the dogs of THEIR choice. If we're going to get technical, ALL dogs should be rescued then. Maybe instead of sifting thru kennels to pick 'elite' dogs, you could click a random generator button, and get 10 RANDOM dogs. The 'elite' dogs are the ones that always get rescued first, and they're ALWAYS in top notch shape to, even if they've been sitting for months at a time.

I completely agree. I was gone for awhile; for personal reaons, and when I returned I didn't immedietly sign onto my showing accounts; but rather my main sponsor account. By the time I got to check my showing accounts, all my lines and top Siberian's were gone. All HHK (my brand name) dogs were being sold in rescue kennels and even studded; so my lines went everywhere and to anyone. Again, if the point of a rescue kennel is to "rescue" then I highly dislike how players are lurking around the kennels who they know have the top dogs in them. And then, what really irks me is that most of these kennels have links to there other kennels on there main page and so then they click link after to link to take all your canines. [/rant]

this idea personally. I have a WHOLE kennel of dyed/9x4 shelties that I worked my butt off for, and I lost my account information to it and Nef never responded to my emails so I lost all my dyes/shelties, and I talked to the person and she won't give them back no matter what. It really made me mad, you work your butt of then your dogs get taken from you, thats not right. People take breaks because of other people on here then those people take their dogs, I don't believe its right. I don't think rescues should be done forever but I do think the time period of being off should be 8 months to a year.

I agree with making the being able to rescue period longer but I don't agree with getting rid of rescue kennels. It is one of the most popular.

Even if Rescue Kennels are the most popular kinds of kennels on here, its not fair people are losing they're dogs. If Nef allows kennels to just sit there un used, then dogs should be able to just sit there un used, for as long as it takes, or forever.

I completely disagree :x As said before it doesnt take much effort to log into a kennel twice a year. If you have an issue where you cant there is always someone with internet that could do it for you.

Rescues act as a sort of filter for the dogs of VP. While I understand that there are certain circumstances that do not allow some people to come on for 6 months or more, but most people who do not play after this amount of time actually stop playing the game. Tons of dogs would rot away in kennels if it weren't for rescues, and there would be nothing anyone could do about it besides Nef going through and deleting thousands of dogs. As stated by almost everyone else, if you can't check your kennels yourself, ask someone else. If you can't ask a VPian, ask one of your RL friends to do it on their own computer if it means this much to you.

Rescue Kennels is basically a $20 ticket to get free dogs. In every way shape and form, taking dogs that you didn't breed/buy is completely outrageous. FYI, Nef doesn't go thru kennels and delete thousands of dogs. They just sit there. Nobody should be allowed to get a 'free elite' dog and make a profit of it. The entire idea of a rescue kennel is ridiculous.

I agree with this I had a ton of gifties rescued. Like. A TON. I'm not trying to get them back, because that would be way too much work and whining on my part. Sure, the rescue kennels got them 'fairly', based on the rules of the game. But I don't really think it was fair. I paid good, RL money for those dyes... And it's not like I didn't log on to my kennels because I just decided to let the dogs get rescued. I had stuff going on in my life. And I was just way too busy for VP. I don't see why I should basically get RL money stolen from me...

I am a rescue kennel and it's my main income. I get ALL my income from the dogs a rescued. All the other 'not so great' dogs that are rescued can be given to novices who need help on the game. I don't think they should be taken away. Like many people pointed out, it does NOT take much to log in ONCE every SIX MONTHS. It's not a big deal. It takes all of a few minutes. And also remember THIS IS A GAME! Instead of trying to do away with rescue because they rescued your 'precious data' try suggesting something the gives an option for rescues NOT to rescue your own created colors.

I respect your response. We still paid for our kennel and had to work to pay for out kennel so it's not exactly 'free'. Like I said, you can log in once every 6 months. Doesn't take much and you can always use a free library computer. We had rescues for quite a while. Why change it now? We can also think of a way to make it so dye colors are not rescued. I mean it's not really a big deal. We also work to find these dogs. I spend hours searching. Oh and I am not fond of the other specialties. xD

foolish you get rid of rescues than the data for maintaining dogs --- millions of dollars worth or not --- is going to be slowing down the game for every kennel that is abandoned for whatever reason by the end it'll be like VHR and a lot of us know how that is, you're lucky to get anything done and novices can only get on for a few hours every day and that's if they are lucky. By having rescue kennels these abandoned dogs can be taken out of the unused kennels and either released, retired, or whatever... at least the data isn't going to waste, abit it will be used for something of actual purpose in the game as for those of us that abandon kennels and can't get back on for months on end, e.g. moving or some family thing... than ask someone on the game you trust and/or in real life to look after your dogs I have done that before for a number of players, Krimes is the one I remember right off the top of my head, and I kept track of her/his dogs alongside mine so that they weren't recused months back while Krimes was doing something else it's not hard to ask someone to look after your "valuable" dogs... and let's say you can't log on cause ya lost your password or something, Nef is around for a reason... message her if your kennel is suspended than resuce kennels can't see your dogs anyway. so the reason why we are riding the rescue kennels again is???

I have 2 rescues along with one of each of others,as i have told people in past it only takes maybe 30 seconds to sign into your accountand dogs couldnt be rescued if you care that little and cant take time to sign in then you should not be so upset.Would any of the ones for this,leave a animal unfed and not taken care of for 6 months?and yes i know this is a game,but for us that spend money to buy these sponsors we take it a little more serious :roll:

I think sponsors should at least have until their account expires before they lose their dogs to rescue kennels. Because its not fair to pay all that money for a kennel/dyes. and then have it all taken from you.

ya got 10 kennels in total as a sponser --- ya can't keep track of your animals well than really, simply, tough I have over 300+ animals, I have them in five kennels -- a 6th holding the most amount I check into every kennel at least once a week to make sure that there is NO WAY a rescue kennel can get to them just cause you're a sponser shouldn't give ya an excuse for been lazy... :? if anything, sponsers who should more or less be something of mentors on the game to help others along, should be the least lazy... e.g. a five second check on the kennel housing your dogs shouldn't be too hard.. hopefully I happened to have a rescue kennel, which has since expired, and I loved rescuing dogs not because it gave me a chance at rare colors but cause I knew that the animals left behind could actually do something in the game... e.g. I found a handful of real good dogs for different breeds that went on later to help increase stats and/or were set at low stud fees for the simple fact of allowing more genetics to the "gene pool" like almost everything with the game here, it's all about jeaously and greed I find it amusing, after a five second search, the ones most protesting the rescue kennels don't have one themselves

I honestly believe this is also apart of Nef not responding to emails ect. As in, I sent an email to Nef explain I lost my account information - she never responded. I got gifties/9x4 Shetland Sheepdogs taken from me, and a gifty Border Collie. This all relates back to Nef as well because I bet some of the people who lost their username and password or just their username have tried contacting Nef, and its never been responded to. I'm not trying to be rude to Nef at all, as I know that she does have a life outside of Virtualpups, but I believe that the emails need to start being responded to. I think rescues should be allowed still but I'd like an extent on how long we can't be logged in. People leave and often come back and forget their account username/password, or both. They email Nef - she never responds, someone gets their dogs. The person who lost the account information makes a new account, or goes to their other. What can you do? Wait for Nef to respond yes, but that usually doesn't happend now. I don't think rescues should be gone, but I do think that the time without logging in should be extended.

The time is already ridiculous. It gets harder to find kennels that haven't logged on in 6 months. It's only twice a year. I don't think it needs to be extended. It's fine how it is. People should right down their info or save it on their computer. I have a whole file on all my game passwords and usernames.

What if your computer crashes? Or breaks? I know I moved in Sept. and I couldn't get on a computer for 2 months. Then I couldn't remeber my information. Then after that my comptuer crashed, and I had to get a new one. That takes a lot of time off VP. The time is ok but what if something horriable happends? :P

Write it down~ On paper. Y'know, old fashioned and whatnot, but it gets the job done. And if something superomgawful happens, then I doubt you'll really care about VP all that much. I know I'd just be happy I got through whatever hellish event I just suffered. *shrugs*
