For anyone who has cell phones, Have you ever sat it by your computer, and before someone calls, your computer goes all *BEEPBEEPBLOOOPDOOTDOOTDUHBEEEPP* and then your phone starts ringing? It scares the crap outta me everytime

OMG. I thought that was just mine. Everyone always thinks I'm weird when I say "Does yours do that?" I've actually had it do that with the TV in school from getting a text. xDD

I have never had that happen to me but what did happen to me was I had my celly next to my radio and the speaker and I had a call coming and the radio started like buzzing and screwing up......has that ever happened to someone?

Yup, especially next to the radio because microwaves(cell phone waves) and radiowaves (radio waves) have overlapping spectrums and the signals can interfere with eachother. I've heard about it near computers and TVs and stuff, but I'm not sure why those do it...

The reason it does it: Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) is electromagnetic radiation which is emitted by electrical circuits carrying rapidly changing signals, as a by-product of their normal operation, and which causes unwanted signals (interference or noise) to be induced in other circuits. This interrupts, obstructs, or otherwise degrades or limits the effective performance of those other circuits. It can be induced intentionally, as in some forms of electronic warfare, or unintentionally, as a result of spurious emissions and responses, intermodulation products, and the like. It is also known as Electromagnetic Interference or EMI. RFI frequently affects the reception of AM radio in urban areas. It can also affect FM radio and television reception, although to a lesser extent In easier terms: The signals from your cell phone cause interference with the signals going to your computer, and since the computer doesn't know the signal from the cell phone, it spazzes.

it usually just nextel phones.. or older phones, newer phones have advanced anttenas so they wont interfere with other radio waves :D
