Blackness

edited July 2008 in General Discussion
Okay well you know when you wake up in the morning, and you stand up and start to walk towards the bathroom, then temporarily everything goes black?
You slowly lose sight and get kinda dizzy, then everything comes back and you resume normal life.

Anyways.... I am hoping people undestand what I am talking about...

I had it longer than usual this morning and a couple mornings ago, and I thought I was going blind. It was kinda scary...

Anyone else experience this?

  • I get it when I stand up from laying down or sitting too fast.
    Bye.
  • anytime I move into a differently lighted room I do, like if I come from outside to inside, my sight gets cloudy and then everything goes black, it ussually lasts like maybe 3 seconds, its pretty long, I just stand still and let it slowly come back

  • I get it in movie theaters most of the time or if I got from a dark room to a bright room or the other way around. It is kind so scary but I call them my blackout episodes(started with my aunt calling them that) and they sometimes last up to a minute.
  • Yeah.
Well it is something to do with the blood in your head... I know that, but Wow. One minute is pretty long xD dogtrainer, I cannot imagine. It scares me enough to have it last 5 seconds. A minute would be terrifying. o.o

  • Can be caused by low blood pressure or dehydration among other things.. You really should have it checked out by a Dr if it happens every day and for long periods of time.

  • I just had that happen to me o.o

It only happened once, the other day.

It was maybe 10-15 minutes after I had woken up. I got up from sitting on the floor, was going to walk out of my room when it suddenly went black. I saw a little white. that was it. I can't imagine having it gone for a minute either. It scared me when it was gone for 10 seconds.

e.e but it's also strange that you happened to post this right after it happened to me. o.o
  • Doesn't happen every day for me, but most days. And most of the time it is when I get up quickly from sleeping, and usually I only get it for a max of 3 seconds.

  • I get that all the time, after standing up to fast. It makes my head pound, everything's black, and I get super dizzy.
It's connected to my migraines, I think, maybe not. But when i get bad migraines I lose vision like that as well.
