I'm bored. So I would thoroughly enjoy talking about horses. So sue me if you don't like it. My boy had to have his first vet visit since we got him for shots/a physical since he was loosing weight badly. Needs his teeth floated. So altogether with his phys/shots/floating its going to be aboutt $250. O.o Yeah. Not THAT expensive. But I was going to put that towards a new laptop! =( So. Tell me about your horses. Pics are welcome

I've always wanted a horse, but havn't gotten one yet :? I was this adorable thing, which I thought was a pony, at an animal auction (turned out to be a mini mule) that went for $250. It was teh sweetest thing EVER!

I have 4

Halfbreed is 15-20 years old, he was born here. His mom was a quarter horse that we bought pregnant, and his dad was a mustang that jumped the fence and mated with his mom before we bought her. We ended up having to sell his mom, but we still have Halfbreed. He's somewhat wild and does bite and has given several people scars...he'd unrideable. He came to us green and headshy. He's still green, but has improved a lot as far as being headshy. He still doesn't like sudden movements, but he lets you touch his face, which is more than we could say when we got him. Mom doesn't trust him to let me ride him, and she started to train him when we got him, but just...stopped. We got him 5 years ago from my aunt. He's a bomb proof horse, very smart, obeys voice commands, everything. The one thing about him is that he's never satisfied with walking, and likes to do a fast walk or a trot. Kite...not to sound like a jerk buuuuut... Why can't you ride your own horse? I mean. That was the whole reason I got Journey. So I could have something of my own to ride that no one else has say in.

Because my mom says I cant :roll: I got him to ride him too, but mom and/or dad get the last say in everything. You see, my parents are stricter than most others. Every website I go on has to be approved. Every person I IM with has to be approved. I'm not allowed to cross the road without an adult (in less than a year I WILL be an adult...) and they pretty much control everything else that I do. I can't wait until I turn 18 and I'm allowed to have a say in my life.

Well, I had nine... but 3 were recently sold. Penny, Peppy, Stormy, Dudette, Imp, and Dude. They're all AQHs. Jaguar, Cocoa, and Gerry were sold. Imp was gelded.. he is the father to Gerry and Stormy. He will be a 4-H horse for a 10 year old girl next year. We've got a lot of brushing up to do with him. Penny is Peppy's mom. Peppy is Stormy's mom. Jaguar is Gerry's mom. Dude and Dudette are half bother and sister. Horses ages range from 28 (Penny) to 1 (Gerry). Since he's gone, our youngest is Stormy. I think she's 6. So, that was a very quick and has minimal information.... lol

I have 1 currently I just got her she is 7 years old Morgan/arab/quarter horse and her name was Alli but I have now changed it to Brooklyn. She is kind of green broke and has no ground manners(that is why we payed very little for her). I am going to be doing 4-h stuff and gaming with her she is a little speed demon. I have had 2 other horses. 1st was Chicago(hence how Brooklyn got her name) he was morgan that what rescued I got him for my birthday. He had barely any teeth at all couldn't eat hay. Foundered twice in 1 summer and on Oct.30th I rode him for the first time all year and on Nov. 1st we had to put him to sleep seeing that he coliced. I did games and trail on him. I only had him for 6 months 2nd was Dee she was a teenage paint mare that we where leasing her and I was getting her into shape(she was really really over weight). On Feb 27th we get a call saying the people are selling her and the next day we went out there and found out that they had sold her and would be coming to pick her up in a couple hours.

These are my girls, Ruth and Tango, both registered QH. I bred the foal for color, conformation and lines. She carries Two Eyed Jack on the papers. Yes, we did until Imp was gelded. We now only have Dude but he's related closely to the rest of our mares. I think we're actually trying to get out of the horse business.

Unfortunately, I don't know what lines they're from... I wish I did. I need to find that out!

awww, I Love Ruth and Tango *steals* And I love Gerry and Jaguar and Imp and Dudette and Dante and Journey and... *dies* I just went riding yesterday actually. Been riding for 6ish years. Always english xD I like courses and jumping and such, though dressage is forced upon me :x I currently do not own a horse, but in a little over a year I will be leasing. Possibly earlier. OMG I rode the most adorable horse yesterday. He was so good!

I love them muchly, both are broken in, but my boi is 6 hours south with my cousin cause she needs a horse to ride, while we are breaking in hers. Confusing yeah I know. Here they are. i had two horse sunny and ancient grey arabian who past decemeber 23rd 2007 and monday was 6 months since her death and then there is gina who has been mopey since sunnys death shes a chesnut saddlebreed

I'm leasing a bay arab mare that I have been training to go english. I have also been training her to jump and that went well, for a 15 year old that hasn't done much jumping she is awesome. I have been told that she has some of the most famous lines in her of the Egyptian Arabian family, so basically blue blood. I had a dark bay Thoroughbred named Adolf, he had to be put down last year due to colic

. He was an ex-racehorse, I used him for hunter/jumpers. He was a great boy. Right now I don't have my own horse, but I still ride hunters, and love trail riding

How many of you mainly trail ride? We do. Well, we did a few shows a year but with gas prices...not so much. I do go english and western on trails cause Journey mostly enjoys english buuuut i got my western saddle as a gift

I don't often, but when I ride, its always trail riding. I ride western. Skipper's such a good boy, even when we're on the road walking to the trail, and a car ZOOMS past (no one on this road respects that you should slow down when passing a horse) he doesn't even flinch.

What makes Halfbreed unrideable? like a physical problem orrr?

Personality/attitude. He sometimes acts like a wild mustang instead of a pet one. If you even go near him with a saddle blanket, he starts running and bucking. My cousin who went to an equine college tried to train him, and she couldn't even get the saddle blanket on him.

Mostly we ride on the trails but sometimes just in the riding ring. Always western or bareback! Penny prefers bareback because of her age. We also (though we shouldn't do it) love jumping bareback!!!

LOL, I ride this horse Shawnee when I trail ride sometimes, and if we stop in a creek she paws the water with her front legs, and sticks her nose under the water and blows bubbles.
