Dark Fury

Prologue<br><br>An unforgiven place that you shall restore as a likeness upon yourself.It is true that who so bears the scar of the ghost horse,shall be killed when one is to see it.It shall live no more as a ghost,but be the reminder of what lives today.<br>A ghost horse bears the scar of the half moon on it's flank so that other horses can see it and be known of when an exile,or one who had sent many disgraces and was banished from it's past herd,should die for no reason for the horse who is killing it,but many horses should be grateful for their scars,because some can hide them under their long manes.They are the ones who can live out in the grassy meadows,see the bright shining sun,and live free until they die.<br>The not so fortunate ghost horses,the ones with the scars on their flanks,have to hide in the shaows for their whole lives,never to be seen nor heard.They do have a secret valley,only the one the ghost horses know about.They may see a little sun there if they are lucky,but most of them arent.They thrive on each others will to survive,which is very thin and the sun-deprived grasses that grow in the valley that are usually dead.They dont know if there will be a tomorrow,or even the rest of today.If a unknown horse was to come in they would all be gone.<br><br><br>Chapter 1-The Beginning<br>"Mommy,but why can't we go out?"a little colt asked his mother,while it layed down next to her in the valey of the ghost horses.<br><br>"Because."the mare replied to her child.She looked down at him silently with a tear in her eye."We cant go because we are not allowed."she added softly.<br><br>The little colt,named Dagger,got up and stood next to his mommy and puffed out his chest so that he looked big and strong."I will protect us from any danger that tries to come near us."he said and smiled.He lost concentration of his stance and stumbled on a nearby rock.He looked up at his mom with his big brown eyes.<br><br>"Dont use those puppy dog eyes on me."she said softly and got up and went by her colt,"You did look big and mean."she said to him."Dagger,we cant go out now,but we may in a little while."<br><br>The colt looked back up at his mom,"Really?"he asked,"That would be so cool."he said and got up on his wobbly legs and nuzzled his mom's shoulder.<br><br>The mare,named Tonic said,"Come on,its time to go see the leader."she started to trot swiftly up to one of the large rocks surrounding the outer edge of the valley.Tonic looked beside her constantly to make sure that the little colt was following,and he was.Slowly,but surely.<br><br>When they reached the rock,the leader of the ghost horses,a silvery grey,named Tyui,was standing on top.He spoke to the horses:"We may go out today,but just for a little while.We need to find more of us to bring back so they do not tell any more about our kind or where to find us.You will not repeat this either.Keep your children by your sides at all times,mares and stallions,stay in the front and the back of the herd to make sure none of the colts or filles get lost."he finished and he got down from the large rock and went over to Tonic,"Watch out for him.He likes to explore."the grey stag said to her and started to walk toward the enterance of the valley which was a very large cave-like thing.<br><br>When he finished talking,Tonic nodded slightly.She nickered to Dagger,who was looking up at their only source of water,a small waterfall,and nickered to him as if to say,'Come.'<br><br>Dagger silently trotted back to his mom and asked"Mommy,do we get to go out now?" as he seen the other horses go up to the small cave.He already knew the answer to that question and started prancing,arching his neck and what not.<br><br>"Now settle down."the mare called to him as he started to head for the cave.She quickly caught up to him and slowed him down.<br><br>The other mares silently slowed until Tonic was right behind Tyui,becuase she to was a lead.<br><br>They went through the maze-like cave silently,as if not to create an echo from their hooves,but one of the fillies who was near the back,whinnied.When they got out they reached the blackness of the sullen shadows.They prudently made their way over to the edge of the dense forest.When they reached the edge of the trees,they stopped.They looked out upon the little meadow below them and then looked out for any other horses who may have claimed the little piece of land theirs.When they didnt see anyting the went out. <br><br>Dagger cantered slowly away from Tonic and started to play around with a little filly.They raced each other and nipped at one another playfully and bucker til there hearts told them to stop and lay down.Dagger looked at the filly,"We will be best friends forever."he said happily,still nipping at the little chestnut's filly's mane.<br><br>The little filly nickered back to him and said,"Best friends forever." While laying down still she nipped at his neck.<br><br>Tonic smiled and watched,swishing her tail,she went over next to Tyui,who was watching and started to graze on the sweet clovers.She missed seeing all of this everyday.She missed cantering around the field with all the freedom she had,she missed kicking up her hills like the foals just did,but of all she missed the sun the most.She decided,after she was done eating that she would lay down and let it warm up her coat.She shut her eyes for a little bit and dozed off,only to be awaked by the shrill neigh of a horse.<br><br><br>Chapter 2-The Diasaster<br><br>Tonic raised her head slowly,with her ears pricked up,alert.She widened her eyes at the sight of a mountain lion not far from her.She got up quickly,not bothering to shake her coat off.She tossed her mane and shifted uncomfortably on her feet and whinnied.She hung her head low and beared her teeth,pawing the ground.<br><br>The mountain lion came after her and lunged at her throat.That was the main point from where to kill a horse,because thats where one of the main arteries that they need to survive is.It grabbed onto it with its sharp,hammer-like teeth and held on for dear life.<br><br>Tonic tried to paw at it and get it off,but it was holding on to her strongly.The poor black mare felt so helpless then.She could feel the life being drained out of her as the blood poured everywhere.She looked back at Dagger and whinnied for him to look away,for she did not want him to see this.She did not want her first and what seemed to be last colt to see her dying when he needed her the most.She gasped for the breathes she took now.<br><br>Tyui sent out a challednging whinny and grabbed the lion about the throat and shook him hard.It fell to the ground and started to leave silently.<br><br>Tonic blinked her eyes at Tyui and then when she opened them,he wasnt in her sight.She looked down to the ground to see her blood on it and then looked over from it.There,with blood coming out of its mouth ,was Tyui,with a few cuts on his face and a deep gash in his throat.She could feel tears welling up in her eyes as she went over to him silently and nudged his stomach slightly.When he did not even move a muscle,the tears fell from her eyes,and the breathes that the mare could get were long and hard.<br><br>Tyui's lifeless body was lain before all of the herd.All of the mares had tears in their eyes just like Tonic had and all of the stallion's hung their heads low in respect for Tonic.<br><br>Dagger came up to her on shaky legs,"Mommy,what has happened to dad?"as he asked this he waslked over to Tyui abnd nudged his neck a little as if to say,'Daddy please get up.'<br><br>Tonic nudged the colt away from him and then turned back to face him,she couldn't bare it anymore.She turned away again and whinnied directions to the herd to follow her.She went next to the colt and said,"Everything is going to be okay."and then nuzzled him silently for a moment before trotting away from the place.She lead then over to a steep hill and told them to rest for a while.She then turned back to the colt and layed down beside of him.<br><br>Dagger layed down beside of her and put his head next to hers and askes,"Why did daddy have to die?"he sniffed a little bit as he said that.<br><br>Tonic had a tear in her eye again and looked back over at him,"I dont know."she said,her throat she hurting her,she rubbed it on the grass a little.It helped some,but not much.<br><br><br><br>This was done by one of my best friends on another game.She took a ghost horse RPG idea of mine and made it into a story,but I like it.<br>Story (c)Melody Sport Horses<br>Idea (c)Sunset Farms(me)
