Whoo! I need ideas! O_O

We go to Disney World in less than a week! May 4th to be exact. However.. We're babysitting in return for pet care. And.. We're babysitting for three hours one May 3rd. *collapses*

I've never babysat before(it's me and my little sister)... So I'm nervous. She'll get along fine with the youngest boy. He looooves legos. And my sis? Well.. she figured out how to make a moving elevator with legos. xD So..

I think the oldest, a girl, likes to handle the snakes(they look so awesome! One's only a little baby <3)

Anyway, from experienced babysitters, ideas?

 • Dreamy, you never babysat before?

Anyway, when is the time from like late evening or what?

That would help.

How old are the children?
 • Ah. Information is good. xD

Nuuuu! Dreamy's a n00b with babysitting. I've stayed home with my little siblings.. but that's it. xD

Uh.. The boy is like.. 6 or 7. And he loves legos(as said)
And the girl is 8 or 9 I think.. not sure what she likes. Hehe.

It's from 6:30 to 9:00 pm.
So, they'll probably(I sure hope) be in bed at some point, and my sister and I can clean up or whatever.

 • Ok well for starters. Ask the parents when they go to bed. Then because it's a Saturday keep them one hour later from bed (inless they fall asleep on their own), that will make easy bed time. Also get them ready for bed (pjs and teeth brushed and eveything) at the time they are supposed to go to bed so that if they do fall asleep it won't matter.

Kids that age like games where they hide things and you try to find them. Just be prepared to not be able to find them. You could even switch it up and make them find the things.

Lego is great for the little boy so just get your sis to make lego things with him and it shouldn't be a problem.

The girl would porbley like to get dressed up at that age and you might have to play dress up with her (but who knows theres girls that don't like that) Maybe if she likes to read read a book to her or she can read on to you?

If all else fails, put in a movie or let them watch a tv show and you have time to do stuff. Make sure they both agree on the movie so they both will sit down and watch and you have around 1-2 hours off your hands.

Hope I helped

(I babysat three kids for 5 hours. One 8, One 4, and One 1. Got $50  And the boy had Autism and they are asking me to come back so it worked.
 • Awh. Sweet. xD Thanks! I should print this. I'll meet the kids on Sat. with Bella. So I can see what sparks them. I have plenty of junk at my house to bring if I have an idea.

I used to collect beads.. Maybe necklaces or something. :o I dunno.

Hehe. We're doing 'free' work. In return for petsitting. But.. If they like us enough, after we're payed off, maybe we'll get paid. Hehe. Doesn't matter to me really.

Thanks again!

 • Dreamy needs two of the babysitting books I have. I trained for free at my library. It was hosted by the red cross.

Brush up on the heimliche manuver. You never know what could happen.

And in one of my books it says to tell kids a few minutes before they need to change for bed, go to bed, ect.

And about Lilly saying to hide objects..Make sure they aren't anything important. And peek if you can. You shouldnt take your eyes off of them.

 • We actually did a course on the heimliche maneuver and CPR about 6 months ago. But brushing up wouldn't be bad, no? Thanks so much guys!
