edited April 2008 in General Discussion
My next door nieghbor has 4 big labs and is pregnant. Her son came over and said thier dogs got in a big fight and his mom can't do anything. (Because she's pregnant) They need my mom, but she's not home. My dad won't let me go over there to help. WHAT DO I DO!?!?

  • Tell them to seperate the dogs, maybe into seperate rooms so they can cool down. Make sure that they go over each dogs for any wounds that may have been inflicted during the fight. (And be sure to treat them, or if they need to go to the vet, keep them in isolation until someone who is able to take the dog comes. If they are NOT allow them near the other dogs until they have been treated.) After a while, once all the dogs are calm, allow them to reintroduce themselves to eachother under supervision.

  • It sounds like they are still fighting over there. I don't know what to do.

  • Go tell them that. Don't let them put their hands in the fight, but instead have them throw a blanket or sheet and hit the dogs with a pillow or something soft and say "NO" loudly. Once they are seperated, isolate them like I said before.

  • No problem. It's worked for my dogs whenever they've gotten in fights. I hope it works for your neighbors. Although it seems strange they would keep 4 animals that they can't control, and seem to be agressive... :?

  • they need to restrain the dogs...with a blacnket like colby said. and then, if possible...muzzle them. i learned this in my small animal and vet class if we ever had to do something with an animal. i have also done this...so i know this from expirience<br><br><br>to muzzle an animal without an actual muzzle:<br>1. get a long rope or thick string...or even a strong cloth.<br>2. make a loop, like you were going to ppull it to tie it into a knot<br>3. put it over the restrained animal's muzzle<br>4. wrap the string around to the bottom of the muzzle<br>5. bring the left side of the string up the head and underneath the left ear.<br>6. bring the right side of the string up the head and underneath the right ear<br>7. tie it into a bow, loose enough for a quick release but tight enough for it not to get loose on its own...<br><br>Hope this helps...

  • Sounds like one was attaking the cat, then another one joined in. Nothing with the dogs fighting eachother. Just the cat. The cat had a broken rib and collapsed lung and much more.

  • Poor cat :( Even though I don't like cats... that's horrible.

  • O.O They shouldn't own a cat with aggressive dogs. That's not right :?
