I have just finished two horse headshots. The first black headshot is my personal project that i have been working on for a while and i'm very pleased with how it turned out. The other one is suppossed to be the colour 'decietful'. It's for a contest entry, but i'm pleased with that one too. This is my new style of horse headshots.
Comments and citique is more than welcome!
Would anyone be interested in these?

1.

2.

Really nice! I like the second one. It looks 3-Dish And the halo is adorable

Thanks!
The halo and the horns were a nightmare but they came good in the end... lol I wasn't too sure what to do with the colour 'deceitful'... so i improvised
I like how they are coming along, but neither seem quite finished.

Horse one:
The inner ear of a horse is the perfect spot to practice deep and fading shadows. You've left yours with just two tones that don't blend at all. Also, ears are more often than not very fuzzy, which adds to how you do your shadows. I think you can help this piece by simply adding some lighter and darker tones. The mane has the same issue, I reccomend you study hair. You can study you own hair for convenience, note where the lights are and how it effects the lights and darks in the hair. The eye is stunning, I have no TIPs for improvement. The nostrils are the same as the rest, more tones. The lips disturb me a bit, it's like you took that part and inverted it. They are well structured, but there is never white for that area, you will always see gradual shadows.

Over all, it is very nice, and given the quality of the eye, I think you could go a lot further with this piece.

Horse two:
For the most part, it is the same idea as the first one. A think to consider is your background. You have lightning, sharp, intense light in the background. Your horse should be covered in mostly shadow on the one side, and almost set ablaze by light on the other. It would help to look up some glowing object tutorials for the halo, and perhaps have the horse yellow tinted in those areas.
Ooooh!!! I like very much! I love them both, but am tempted to sneak into the computer and snatch the first one....

Thanks wingsspread!
*huggles*

I prefer the first one too but the first one was my little project so i could finish it to my liking.
