Prize For Good Grades?

Well, we could like have a contest for the end of the school year.<br><br>Whoever gets the best GPA at the end of the year gets the prize.<br><br>I know there's gonna be lots of ties, so I was wondering if this would be a good idea or not. If this does go through, I want to host it.<br><br>It's a good way to promote good grades, and you get rewards for it.<br><br>(my cousin gets $20 per 9 weeks if she gets good grades. I'm getting jipped. O.O )<br><br>It would be nice if we got sponsor upgrades for it. O.O

    Ah jeez if we have this I will lose. I am not stupid or anything (I am in honors) but I get lazy and I dont do the homework. xD

    People could just fake their GPAs =/ Its easy to say "I have a 3.8!" when in reality, they may only have 2.7.

    I don't know about you, but my report card has my social security number on it. I'd rather not scan it in :wink:

    That's a good point, Cobalt, but people could always take that off once they scan it onto the computer. They could block it out. And Okanagan Gurl, they could fake it, so that's also a good point.

    I vote for scanning report cards, if we do this. <br><br>Also, in case of scanning report cards, please delete all places with any personal info, such as your name, your parents' names, phone numbers, schools, addresses, school ID codes, etc etc (common sense, ni?)

    <br><br>Yeah, but the problem there is there's no proof that its their report card. That's the complicated thing; they can't be proven truthful unless there's personal info on it, which isn't a good thing to put on the internet, and then they could just scan someone else's and say its their's and blah x.x this is all so confusing ><

    How about VP grades?<br><br>If we don't mess around on VP, we won't be banned.<br><br>Like on what they do on SBF.<br><br>IF we have like 80% and higher, we get like 1k per week.

    Not if you take Pre-AP and AP Classes. It boosts it even more. But it also depends on what scale you are on. Ours is on a 4pt scale though so it has to be the AP classes that weigh down the Avg

    GPA = Grade Point Average. <br><br>And, as was previously brought up, depending on your grading scale, you can either get over a 4.0 or that is the highest you can get. Where I live, the highest you can get is a 4.0, and it seems a bit unfair to be judged against people who are able to get a higher GPA. I like the idea of VP grades much better.

    Its a cool Idea. hehe but id defiantly lose. I have like a 2. something GPA only becuase of some screwed up thing Im not even going to talk about lol. Im smart though, Im not Dumb.

    <br><br>Yeah good point, and nothing says everyone on here even goes to public school systems, so GPA's probably would not offer a fair judgement, and how would they check to see who actually has those grades? In my school the only way to get over a 4.0 is to take AP and Pre-AP classes.

    See, our AP classes are still counted in our 4.0 GPA. no extra points.<br><br>And also, diferent countries have different ways of grading, as Leafles pointed out XD

    My report cards don't get sent anymore. They are found on the internet so this wouldnt really work for me.
