can some one tell me or make a tuorial on gimp for strinign together an animated banner. *or anther program

I'd really like to be able to animate banners, but I've tried downloading GAP, and either it didn't work or I just don't get it. I don't find GIMP very user friendly, so I guess it was a bit optimistic trying GAP!<br>Hope you get an answer
