Mozart finally passed on. I say finally not because I wanted to get rid of him. I say finally because he was slowly starving himself, and I couldn't bare to watch him suffer any longer. The last meal he ate was on November 12th. We've tried at least once a week every week to get him to eat. We've tried all of the suggestions on how to get them to eat that we know of, and we tried to get him to take an emergency supplament. Nothing worked. I constantly emailed his breeder to ask her what else we could do. She was either busy for close to 2 months, or she was avoiding the subject. This is the 2nd snake we've gotten from her to go anorexic and die. RIP little Mozart...I still love you. At least her suffering is over. *sighs* Here I was thinking now that my most unlucky year is over, this would be good. >< Auzzy's 'adoption anniversary' is coming up. How fun. :?

Yeah. I'm just sorry that he had to suffer for a few days shy of 2 months of anorexia before he died.

*hug* It'll be okay. If you believe in this sort of thing, Auzzy's still with you anyway. You just can't see him.

Thanks Dreamy *hug* Boz - There's a variety of reasons, but it wasn't clear in Mozart's case what the problem was. Turns out Songo was sick (RI, we found out after she was dead) and wouldn't eat cause she could smell the ferrets (preditors). He was a beautiful little man ;-;

It could be, there's no telling without getting tests done on the bodies and crap like that ><; they can skip meals but its not normally for over a month, or in mozart's case, almost 2. I don't know what other kinds of snakes are legal here. I had a website but I can't find it. I have a Ball Python already, mom said no other Pythons and no Boas. That limits it. No grass snakes, too fragile. I could get a kingsnake or a milksnake or something but milksnakes don't tolerate handling as much as I would like. I never looked into kingsnakes. The only kind around here are Calis. They don't really appeal to me too much. It'd help if I could find that damn website >>;

I'm so Sorry about Mozart. He was a beautiful snake and I really don't enjoy snakes very much. I don't know if this is in snakes too, but my brothers Geeko has this hybernation thing and doesn't eat much for about two-three monthes.

Thanks. Some snakes get dazed around wintertime but they wouldn't stop eating long enough to die like Mozart did. He wasn't hybernating at all, just not eating. I wish I knew what was wrong ><;

Maybe you should go with a healthy adult snake? Might make you more confident and it might be a little easier. I have no idea how snakes work though, but that seems easier

Maybe. But then you don't have the joy of raising it from a little baby and you have less time with it. I'm too picky ><; It would be easier though, you're right.

Eh, don't worry about it. Sounds like it was an iffy litter(if that's what you say when referring to snakes, lol). Just make sure the breeder knows about these issues... And possibly try a snake from different parents or a different breeder?

Cobalt - The two that died weren't related, they were from different clutches =/ Bad sign. We're not getting more from her. She knows...I've told her several times. D-Girl - I am too ^^; thanks.
