HELP! Pokemon diamond/Pearl users

I just got pearl, and im at the part where im in a cave. and it says one of my pokemon can break it but how do i make them?

Hmm break the rock or move it? Breaking the rock I believe is rock smash and moving a rock is strength. Would you like a walk through guide?

You have to get the HM Rock Smash to break rocks, Tarnish'll take right good care'a ya. I don't remember off the top'a my head where to get Rock Smash and which gym you haveta beat to use it outside of battle.
