IF you used it just for a reference to what the dog(or whatever it is) looks like, thats fine. But tracing it, would be copying it... in a way.

  • The story of the art skillness of Kite...<br>Kite started out drawing horribly. She could only draw stick figures, and even they looked horrid. She couldn't draw anything that looked even remotely close to what it was supposed to be. It was that way for 12 years.<br>Then, she saw how well her cousin (whom she looked up to) drew. He inspired her. She tried harder. She practiced every day. <br>Now, 4 years later, she has been told she can draw better than most people her age. For once in her life she is <span style="font-style:italic">proud</span> of her artwork. <br><br>In other words, I started out extremely bad at drawing. But I put effort into trying, practiced, and never gave up. The changes my art went through blew me away. With practice, patience, and effort, almost anyone can become a good artist ^^
    Bye.
  • Thank you for that, Kite. :P As for myself, I've been drawing since I was 5 years old because big sister drew and I wanted to be just like big sister. XD<br><br>The practice can start anytime. Why someone cannot draw a line I will never understand.
  • Yeah...>>;<br>Goes to show that Robert really is more like a big brother than a cousin ^^; I wanted to be just like him growing up too. ^^
    Bye.
  • Im too impatient for it ^_^ lol. I get frustrated at things, and i simply give up. :? <br><br>I can draw good lettering, like different designs with letters, but thats only if i really concentrate, and try.<br><br>I get bored easily with things, and have to switch off. I cant sit still very long doing the same thing for long periods of time. In other words... I HAVE to do something different after a while. <br><br>I cant help it, its just the way i am  <br><br>(and i can draw a line, that was just a way of exagerating to how bad i draw)

  • I'm really impatient too and I give up as well ^^; No one's perfect. I get really frustrated when a drawing won't come out right. I've found that if I just get up and walk away from it, or do something else and come back to it later the frustration and impatience is gone and I can continue with the drawing and fix any obvious mistakes. ^^
    Bye.
  • I must be lucky because I can draw what's in my head with out reference. :P
  • XD yes.<br>You see, the pictures in my mind are.....fuzzy. XD
    Bye.
  • One question, are the pics on Furry-Paws copyrighted? i think that they are for the use of the public. I dont know if you're only supposed to use them for their site or not, however.

  • I don't think so, but if you you go on paint and write at the bottom of the image "Image from (<a href="http://www.furry-paws.com"; target="_blank" class="bb-url">www.furry-paws.com</a>) " you won't have to worry about it. Take off the parentheses. I did that so it wouldn't link.

<br><br>Yeah. Which, if everyone did that for all pics they got online, that would be fine. Thats a good idea  If people gave credit with websites, i think any picture you use would be fine, unless of course people specifically put that they dont want people using their images at all.

  • I think I made that comment already.<br><br>I do agree though. At least that person would be giving credit where credit is due.
  • <span style="font-size:75">I voted NO but solely on the guidelines that any photos used have the permission of the photograph's owner and knows the intent of the photomanipulator.<br><br>For example I Have permission from Monty Sloan to use his photos on this site. A simple task that required an e-mail and nothing more. </span>
  • Yeah...not many people actually get permission x.x That's the problem. She meant if you don't have permission to use the image. ^^

<br><br>That's a bit of a rare thing. I do believe the main focus of the writing was about people taking photos without any warning to the person who took it.

    Bye.
  • for Corbis if you mark the royalty free box the pics they come up with for those are not considered stealing because royalty free is giving you the permission to use the pics

  • Danke sehr, Kite. Du bist mein Freund. <br>Ja, Ich dachte so auch.
  • Bitte sehr ^^ Du bist mein Freund auch. *hug*<br>Ja...
    Bye.
  • Ha. Sorry that got off topic. Anyone have any final comments?
  • Dang.. guess i should start practicing my drawing skills :? I'm an awful drawer. Any suggestions on how to get better with mouse-drawing with MS paint?

  • OR COURSE it's art theft! Photography is a form of art. And even if you don't CONSIDER it art, it's STILL theft because it's STILL copyright. That's why people should stop being lazy and use stock photos (believe or not, some people prefer stealing images found on google because it's "easier").<br><br>Frankly, if I found one of my images manipulated (and it WASN'T a stock photo and they didn't have my permission) with a little blurb about "photo from blah" I'd still be pissed off. =P<br><br>Photomanips using STOCK PHOTOS that RESPECT the terms in play are LEGAL btw, because there's already a permission agreement between the parties. But saying that just because an image is up on google isn't an excuse. People don't have any control over what google brings up, it's like saying that if your photomanip was found on google, then someone has the right to sell it.<br><br>"I don't steal your manipulations or artwork, don't steal mine."

  • Nicely put Wolf on the Wind. It doesn't matter if it is even copyrighted or not as a stock photo. 99.9% of the time --the people that use images-- the images are not theirs.

Wait, you lost me. xD I use images all the time in manipulations that aren't mine, but they're stock photos so it DOES matter. xD

  • Even though there is permission to take stock photos you still do not have the right to claim it as yours.
  • Ooohh, now I get you, I think. So you're saying that the artist has rights to the final piece, but not to the images all by themselves? (unless they took the photos heh)
