A Couple New Events

A couple events I think would be neat to add to VP are:<br><br>a) Flock guard<br>b) Protection<br><br>Certain breeds of dogs are often used to work independent of man, guarding flocks of sheep. They're often raised with the sheep until they practically think they're one of them. A few breeds bred for flock guard are the Great Pyrenese, Anatolian Shepherd, Akbash Dog, and the Kuvasz. Though they both have to do with sheep, it's very different from herding.<br><br>And protection is, of course, guarding. It's one of the levels of Schutzhund, so I think it should be a separate event as well. This was mentioned once before, I'm just bringing it up again.<br><br>If those could both be considered when Nef has the time would be great!

    I think you'd be better off just calling it "Ring Sport" than protection. No tracking in ring sport. Or, there's this new sport called K9 Pro Sport that deals with protection in "real life" scenerios. It's pretty cool. But yeah, I'm all for a sport just for protection. The protection phase in SchH sometimes isn't very challenging.
