Mutts Not Neutered!

I just joined the game and fell in LOVE!! but after I bred my 2 different breeds & was excited of getting mutts so I can breed mutts. They all came out neutered. This is very unrealistic and prooves that someone must not like mixed breed dogs.. so I am leaveing the game. My dogs are up for sale for $1 each. Bye everyone.

Its not that anyone doesnt like mutts... its just the breeding of mutts most people dont like. Why breed mutts when you can focus on a certain breed on here?

Well if someone doesn't like mutts on here then they shouldn't breed them! but for people that do like mutts it makes them sad

It is very unrealistic because there are billions of mutts in the world that get bred. So I don't get the point!

Again, its not that people dont like mutts. Yeah its unrealistic to have pups born sterile but its also unrealistic to have dogs dyed. It is a game after all, not reality.

Yes but games are suppose to be realistic.. at least thats what I thought.. If they ever change that they aren't born neutered then I will come back! but if they don't then I won't. Mutts aren't breedable for a reason, if you could breed mutts, people would end up with super dogs in a heart beat.

Um super dogs?! A dog is a dog to me whether its AKC registered or not. I dont know why people would hate them for breeding. Some mixed dog breeds can be the most beautiful dogs in the world.

1. Chill. 2. When I say Super Dogs I means dogs that can kick everyone elses butts in competition, you only just joined so you weren't here in the beginning back when those things existed. 3. Just because mutts aren't breedable doesn't mean that we hate mutts, it just means that cross breeding is discouraged. Same thing happened on VHR, if you bred the wrong breeds, you got infertile stock. Then along came grades and everything was kosher. I'm sure that will happen here. Now if this is such a big deal to you (not trying to sound like an ass but I know that's how I'm coming off so blegh) then perhaps this isn't the game for you.

I agree with Nitty... Seriously, it's not such a big deal. I mean, some of people breed mutts responsibly to show them, but most people take (ie) an Australian Shepherd that is totally untrained with -5 loyalty, and breed them with a Chihuahua that is also trained as badly as that, if not, worse... And after they breed them, then see that they aren't fertile, they freak out, complain about on the Bulliten Boards or Chat or Forum, and make a huge deal out of it. :roll: It's very annoying. At least to me.

This whole thing about it not being fair that mutts are infertile has been going on since the game opened, so I'll tell you what, I can't make any promises on it but I'm going to talk to her about making breedable mutts by type. Like example border collie x golden retriever = Working Type Hybrid (Mutt). She did it on VHR with the hybrids, now you only get hybrids if you breed the gift breeds with something and even then you don't always get a hybrid. I don't know about how much coding it went into it, but since VP is in some serious need of updates, I think I'm going to push for this to happen. Like I said, I'm not making any promises, if a buttload of coding was involved with doing the grades on VHR, I don't know if she'll want to go through it again. So keep your fingers crossed but don't get your hopes up.

Yes, but there will a LOT less of these threads, and if mutts were actually breedable, there might be more interest in actually breeding them up, since they could be crossed with real breeds of the same type and produce pups of the pure bred parent. Would help with outcrossing lines to prevent inbreeding.

I'm kind of "iffy" on this one. If mutts are breedable then people are going to want the "designer mutts" on here. I really would rather not see those on here ever

Meh, I guess... you know, part of me would kinda like to be able to breed mutts because its something I wouldnt be able to do IRL. Even though Im against it, it is just a game I suppose. *sigh* I agree with Tara though. Id hate to see designer dogs on here... cockapoos are already a 'breed' on VP. :?

They wouldn't say what they were crossed with, just the breed type ie working, toy, feral, stuff like that. Besides the designer mutt craps already been underway, my prediction is if it does start again it won't last long, the other one was for like 2 weeks.

Oh wait, I get what you're saying... kind of. If they bred 2 dogs of different types, the pups would have a 50 - 50 chance of being grades of either type. Zoe being a smartass asked what would happen if you bred yorkies and dingos, the pups would be born either Toy Type Hybrid (mutt) or Feral Type Hybrid (mutt), not the whole litter mind you, but each pup would have a half and half chance of being either a toy or a feral type. See what I'm gettin at?

No, no, I explained it wrong, you could outcross but they wouldn't mix types, like a working x feral cross would come out with feral and working pups, not a working/feral hybrid thing. Say you cross a working grade and a feral grade, and they had a litter of 4 pups. With the 50 50 chance, 2 would be working grades, and the other 2 would be feral grades.

...just like if a lab bred with a lab and a husky, some of the pups will be purebred and some will be mixed.... only in this case the pups that would have the husky as the father would turn up as either working or sporting type hybrid.... erm, right? :oops:

You would just get grades from crossing two different purebreds, but if you went back and bred that grade you just got to a purebred of the same type, THOSE pups would end up being pure breds. husky x labrador = working type hybrid husky x working type hybrid = husky labrador x working type hybrid = labrador working type hybrid x working type hybrid = working type hybrid

Well if there's a strong distain towards it then I doubt it'll happen, kicking around ideas and since it worked very well on VHR I don't see a reason why it wouldn't be good here.
