Proposal to make dogs retireable at 6 months

I know this is annoying a lot of rescues...we all get stuck with dogs between the ages of 6 mons and a year that we can't release or retire. Which means we have to turn and turn them until they're over a year to do anything with them. Also a problem is young pups that have been entered in one or two shows that can't be released because they'd been in an event. I realize this is to prevent code from being messed up or something..but here's another proposal...make it so dogs have to be at least a year old to show. There's no reason for any dog to show before it's a year old. (I don't take full credit for either idea, they've come from talking with several people who own rescues, I just thought I'd start the proposal and get it rolling).

I used to own a rescue sponsor kennel, but I changed to breeding kennel. It IS very annoying when they're in the middle, and escpecially for mutts when no one will buy 'em!

Voted yes to both... I recently rescued one of my sold dogs and her many pups ( :roll: ) only to have to turn a couple of them before I could retire them. :x Being a novice, this really slowed down my training (even more so than it usually is since I train all at the same time instead of boarding) and took up space in my kennel.
